Power has been successfully restored to 32 households in Taitung’s Orchid Island following damage from Typhoon Koinu. Taiwan Power Company said they were successfully powered on at 11 p.m. on Monday evening after five days of round the clock repairs.

According to Taiwan Power Company, Typhoon Koinu, which struck Taiwan on October 5, affected over 500,000 households. It also says that the typhoon's strong winds and heavy rains caused extensive damage to power lines in Pingtung and Taitung.

Taipower apologized for the inconvenience caused by the outages and thanked the government and local authorities for their assistance. It says that even though all power has been restored, there may be sporadic power outages in some areas. The public can report problems through the 1911 customer service hotline, and Taipower will handle it as soon as possible.
