The 2023 Taiwan Climate Action Expo (TWCAE3) will be held at the Songshan Cultural Park from October 20 to 22. The event will feature booths from both public and private institutions showcasing specific actions in response to climate change. Speakers from Japan and South Korea will also be sharing their experiences in sustainable urban governance and smart net-zero solutions in a series of five forums across the three-day event.
Jointly organized by the think tank International Climate Development Institute (ICDI) along with multiple educational, financial, and government organizations, this will be the third expo since the event began in 2021. ICDI head Chao Kung-yueh (趙恭岳) said that this year's expo will focus on the three major topics of sustainability, green transitions, and green living.
The expo aims to collect Taiwan’s net-zero carbon reduction ideas in order to present them at the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28). This will take the form of the Songshan Declaration, co-signed by Taiwan’s diplomatic allies Tuvalu, Nauru, the Marshall Islands, and Palau, as well as the British Representative Office in Taiwan. Chao said that he hopes this will become a bridge for dialogue between the Taiwanese people and the world. The official version of the declaration will be officially released this December at the COP28 meeting in Dubai.
