Taiwanese roller skater Liu Chiao-hsi (劉巧兮) defeated Iran's Ahmadi Taraneh in the women's freestyle speed skating slalom in Hangzhou on Thursday, securing Taiwan’s 13th gold medal of the games.
Ting Yu-en (丁于恩) also won the bronze medal, taking the roller skating team’s total to five golds, two silvers, and two bronzes.
The women's compound archery team defeated Thailand and South Korea on Thursday, advancing to the finals. However, they missed out on the gold by one point in the final match against India, winning silver with a score of 229 to 230. The archery team has won one silver and one bronze so far.
Taiwan is currently ranked sixth with 13 gold, 15 silver, and 21 bronze medals in this year’s games.
