Taiwan’s Presidential Office received a bomb threat on Tuesday morning, according to the Presidential Office Spokesperson.

Spokesperson Lin Yu-chan (林聿禪) said an email was sent to the Presidential Office's public opinion mailbox containing the name of the President and claimed that a bomb planted in the Presidential Office would explode at 3:00 PM.

Lin added that a police report has been filed and that the IT department is gathering digital evidence to help with the investigation. She reminded the public that any person who uses someone else's information to commit a crime is also subject to legal penalties.

Lin said the investigation is ongoing. The Presidential Office is calling on anyone with any additional information to contact law enforcement agencies to help with the investigation.
