Taiwan Tech Arena (TTA) marked its fifth anniversary with a prestigious inauguration ceremony. Among the attendees were Premier Chen Chien-jen (陳建仁), National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) Chairman Tsung-Tsong Wu (吳政忠), former Minister of NSTC Chen Liang-gee (陳良基), and Taipei City Deputy Mayor Lin Yi-hua (林奕華).

In his speech, Premier Chen highlighted the government's efforts to optimize and enhance the startup investment environment through an action plan from 2018. This initiative has led to a number of programs and measures aimed at promoting the vibrant development of innovation and entrepreneurship.

TTA, as Taiwan's first international-level startup base, has played a pivotal role over the past five years in nurturing more than 700 new and innovative teams with a strong focus on international collaboration. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, TTA's Black Card program successfully attracted 46 outstanding overseas entrepreneurs and investors, leading to the establishment of 15 companies in Taiwan with total investments exceeding NT$200 million (US$6 million).

Chairman Wu announced the NSTC partnership with various ministries in launching a ten-year initiative, which aims to leverage Taiwan's exceptional semiconductor industry to drive innovation across all sectors. The ultimate goal is to attract the world's leading startups and tech teams to Taiwan, making it the preferred destination for ambitious young individuals seeking to realize their dreams.
