Kuomintang (KMT) presidential candidate Hou You-yi (侯友宜) is set to visit the U.S. in September, a press release issued by his campaign office voiced on Thursday. The press release stated that the visit aims to deepen Taiwan-U.S. exchanges and demonstrate Hou’s continued support for Taiwan’s free and democratic system.
The trip includes meetings with members from the U.S. Congress and American Institute in Taiwan Chairwoman Laura Rosenberger and is scheduled from September 14th to September 21st. Hou is also scheduled to give speeches at think tanks and participate in overseas Taiwanese events.
Hou will visit New York, Washington D.C., and San Francisco. His office said that the complete itinerary will be made public upon finalization.
