Taiwan reported 44,884 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday. Of the new cases, 44,846 are domestic and 38 are imported. There were also 33 deaths reported.
Of the domestic cases, 7,920 were reported in New Taipei City, 5,835 in Taichung City, 5,375 in Kaohsiung City, and 4,504 in Taipei City.
Of the 33 deaths from domestic cases, there were 18 men and 15 women who were all 60 years and older.
Regarding the 38 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between September 18 and October 17, 2022.
Taiwan has seen a total of 7,257,592 COVID-19 cases and 11,994 COVID-19 deaths since 2020.
