Taiwan reported 32,068 new local cases of COVID-19 on Monday. That’s about 5% lower than the number of cases reported on Monday last week.
More than a sixth of the people with new cases of COVID are from New Taipei, with 6,162 people there testing positive. Another 3,865 have the disease in Taichung, along with 3,627 in Taoyuan.
Another 57 people have died from COVID-19. Most of the new cases were over the age of 70, and only about a third had taken three doses of a COVID vaccine.
Taiwan also recorded 49 imported cases of COVID-19 on Monday.
