President Tsai Ing-wen called for a resilient democratic alliance as she met with guests who will be participating in the Yushan Forum 2022. The forum begins on Friday and will bring together representatives from like-minded countries for exchanges and dialogue about Asia.
Tsai met with top officials from 12 countries including the US, Canada, Japan, Australia, the EU, and Palau. She said the forum is important for dialogue between the people of Taiwan, the region and the world.
Tsai said Taiwan is on the front line of democracy and is willing to share its experience with the world. She said she hopes like-minded countries will work together for peace and stability in the Asia Pacific region.
The forum’s theme is “Revitalizing, Reorienting, and Reconnecting” and will cover issues such as resilience and sustainable post-pandemic cooperation between Taiwan and other countries.
