An association for Taiwanese people living in the Philippines has donated 100,000 medical masks to the Philippine national police for rescuing eight Taiwanese nationals. Two of them were reportedly kidnapped for ransom while the other six cases targeted people working in off-shore gaming.
The association thanked the Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group for its support. It says the group has helped to reduce crime and address public safety concerns for Taiwanese people in the Philippines.
Officials say people should report suspicious activities to law enforcement authorities immediately.
