Taiwan’s army drove away another drone from its territory on Tuesday night. That was according to a report from Taiwan’s military command center in the outlying island of Kinmen.
Authorities say the drone entered the restricted sea and air zone near Taiwan’s offshore island of Cao Yu. The army then used drone jammers and defensive shots to drive it away.
Taiwan has strengthened its defenses against Chinese drones. Drone incursions have increased in regularity since US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan last month.
Earlier this month, Taiwan’s military also shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle that failed to heed warnings after it entered the airspace over Shiyu Islet in Kinmen County. The source of the drone incursions is still unclear.
