The 2022 Taiwan Culinary Exhibition will focus on the variety of local specialties available throughout the four seasons. The agriculture council announced on Thursday that this year’s displays aim to promote the country’s fresh produce, fishing industry, and agricultural tourism.
Agriculture council official Chen Chun-yen says an increasing number of people in Taiwan have started farming their own fruits and vegetables as a leisure activity. He says their hard work has paid off with fresh ingredients that enhance the quality of their meals.
Due to China’s recent ban on Taiwanese grouper fish, the local industry is trying to promote the fish domestically. Chen says the exhibition is a great opportunity to show off the delicious taste of grouper and encourage more people and businesses to buy it.
The Taipei World Trade Center will host the exhibition from August 5 to August 8, the first time in two years since the pandemic began. Besides presenting various food products, the exhibition will also feature a wide variety of activities, such as cooking competitions with chefs from around the world.
