A delegation from Taiwan’s legislature led by Legislative Speaker You Si-kun is in France to deepen ties between Taiwan and the country. You met with members of France’s National Assembly on Tuesday and will meet with members of the French Senate on Wednesday.
The multi-party Taiwanese delegation includes KMT legislators Kung Wen-chi and Wan Mei-ling, Taiwan People’s Party legislator Jang Chyi-lu, and DPP legislator Huang Shih-chieh. The politicians will discuss ways to increase cooperation in areas like culture and technology. Both Taiwan and France exhibit strengths in these fields.
You’s visit to France follows an earlier visit by a French parliamentary mission to Taiwan in June. The group’s visit to France also follows visits to Lithuania and the Czech Republic to enhance cooperation.
