One of Japan’s former deputy foreign ministers is arriving in Taiwan on Monday. Keisuke Suzuki will meet President Tsai Ing-wen and speak at the upcoming Ketagalan Forum on Indo-Pacific security.
Taiwan’s foreign ministry has welcomed Suzuki’s visit.
The Japanese lawmaker has also held positions as Japan’s deputy finance minister and as head of the ruling party’s youth division. It’s his ninth trip to Taiwan.
Suzuki leaves on Wednesday.
