Taiwan's Lu reaches semifinals at Chennai Open in India
Into the quarterfinal

Taiwan’s top tennis player Lu Yen-hsun reached the semifinals of the Aircel Chennai Open in India on Thursday.

The sixth-seeded Lu defeated Pablo Carreno-Busta of Spain 6-4, 6-4 to reach the quarterfinal in the men’s singles event.

Lu later moved into the semifinals of the men's doubles in Chennai as he and partner Jonathan Marray of Britain beat second seeds Andre Begemann of Germany and Robin Haase of the Netherlands in the super tiebreaker.

The Aircel Chennai Open is India's only ATP World Tour stop. It is one of three tournaments being held in the opening week of the season and is celebrating its 20th edition in 2015.

Lu reached the round of 16 in the men's singles at last year's Chennai Open before being forced to withdraw due to an injury.
