Shares in Taiwan retreated Friday as Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC), the market's most heavily weighted stock, came under pressure after two European brokerages downgraded the stock.
Taiwan shares closed down 22.45 points, or 0.24%, at 9,215.58.
