Shares in Taiwan closed lower Thursday to push down the index below 8,900 points. Dealers said this is because investors locked in gains they had built up in recent sessions.
The weighted index on the Taiwan Stock Exchange closed down 16.91 points, or 0.18%, at 8,888.54.
