Taiwan-based China Airlines has won the International Trophy at the 126th Rose Parade held in California. The airline grabbed the title with their float entitled “Inspiring Grace of Cloud Gate” on New Year’s Day. This is the 24th time that the airline has received an award at the Rose Parade, and the 11th year in a row that the airline has won the International Trophy.
The theme of 2015’s Rose Parade is “Inspiring Stories”. China Airlines’ winning float paid tribute to Taiwan's Cloud Gate Dance Theatre. It featured four dancers performing on a moving vehicle decorated with different flowers and sculptures.
The Tourism Bureau's Los Angeles office said the float was designed to highlight some of Taiwan's main tourism draws, such as butterflies, flowers and cultural performances in order to attract more visitors to Taiwan.
