Taiwanese pop diva Jody Chiang has announced that she will end her singing career this year with 16 farewell concerts.
Chiang made the announcement Friday at a news conference. She said the farewell concerts will take place between July and September in Taipei and the southern city of Kaohsiung.
Here today, with much reluctance, I want to tell all of you in person that these will be my last concerts. I will do my utmost, and with all my energy, to leave the best voice with you before I say goodbye to the pop scene," said Chiang.
Chiang started singing professionally at the age of 10 and has since released 60 albums and won eight Golden Melody Awards, Taiwan’s equivalent of the Grammys.
