The number of people willing to become organ donors has tripled. That’s according to the Taiwanese NGO Organ Procurement Association.
The association said on Saturday that in November, some 1,600 people signed organ donation cards. That’s three times as many as what the association used to see.
The association said it has been raising awareness of the importance of organ donation at schools across Taiwan. It said more than 8,000 people in Taiwan are waiting for organ transplants, but only about 800 were able to receive such treatments.
