China’s Taiwan Affairs Office says it welcomes young Taiwanese entrepreneurs to China. The office’s spokesperson Fan Liqing made the remarks in response to Alibaba founder Jack Ma’s recent statement that he would fund a grant to help young Taiwanese entrepreneurs start businesses in China.
The office said Ma’s idea was a very good one, and it hopes more Taiwanese businesspeople come to start companies in China. The office also noted that many Taiwanese have received professional licenses in China after passing certification tests there.
Speaking at the 2014 Cross-strait CEO Summit in Taiwan this week, Ma said that he wants to help Taiwanese companies and young entrepreneurs. The forum ended with the signing of 31 memorandums of understanding. These included 24 deals for small and medium-sized enterprises in the cultural and creative industry.
