Business leaders, entrepreneurs and government officials from Taiwan and China are gathering for the Cross-Strait CEO Summit, which will be held in Taipei on Monday and Tuesday.
Former Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan arrived in Taiwan on Sunday. He arrived with Chen Yunlin, who was China's former top negotiator with Taiwan.
Also set to attend is Chen Deming, who took over from Chen Yunlin as head of the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS).

Meanwhile, former Taiwan Vice President Vincent Siew and the nation’s top negotiator with China, Straits Exchange Foundation Chairman Lin Join-sane, will also attend.
Over 800 people are expected to participate in the summit, making it the largest such event in Taiwan in recent years. The purpose of the event is to strengthen bilateral business exchanges.
One of the keynote speakers is Jack Ma, the founder of Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba. It will be his first visit to Taiwan since Alibaba began trading on the New York Stock Exchange in September.
