Demand for Taiwanese children’s books has been strong at the 2014 China Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair.

About thirty publishing houses from Taiwan are showcasing their children’s books in Shanghai this week. Many of their books sold out on the first day of the fair. Buyers who place their orders now will have to wait about a month to receive their books.

Publishers said some children’s books from Taiwan are expensive. A box set might cost 3000 RMB (about US$500), but because of their beautiful illustrations and refreshing content, children’s books from Taiwan are popular among Chinese buyers.
