Taiwan is working to increase the output value of its e-commerce industry.
According to the latest statistics, the output value of Taiwan’s e-commerce industry is expected to exceed NT$880 billion (about US$29 billion). That figure is up 15% from last year.
An official with the economics ministry, Cynthia Kiang, said on Tuesday the government hopes the output value will grow to one trillion next year. She also said the government has been working with e-commerce businesses to help them tap into the overseas market.
