Taiwan’s export orders in October are expected to rise on the back of new smartphone launches. The value of total export orders in October may top US$44 billion, a record single-month high.
The economics ministry is scheduled to release figures of export orders next Thursday. It said the launch of 4G networks and new handheld devices are likely to bring continued business opportunities for Taiwanese exporters.
An economics ministry survey of exporters found that over 20% of the companies said their export orders increased, while about 56% said there has been no change.
Taiwan-based companies received export orders worth some US$43 billion in September. The economics ministry said it is optimistic that the figures for October will be even higher.
