A Taiwanese food exhibition has been held in Malaysia to promote food products from Taiwan. That’s the word from Lo Yu-chung, representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia.

During the exhibition’s opening ceremony, Lo said that the food fair is a good platform for Malaysian consumers to get to know Taiwan's high-quality food. Bilateral trade in processed food during the first eight months of this year totaled US$380 million. That’s 19% higher than during the same period last year. Lo said this reflects the potential for business growth in between the two countries in the area of processed food.

Lo said that the Taiwanese government has been working hard to bring an end to a recent spate of tainted oil scares. He also expressed hope that the exhibition will help rebuild Malaysian people’s confidence in Taiwanese food products.
