The TAIEX closed up 48 point or roughly half a percent. At closing time, the TAIEX sat at 8,737.
Meanwhile, the US dollar fell slightly against the New Taiwan dollar on Taipei’s Forex. The greenback lost NT$0.01 in value to close at $NT30.6.
